Wolves the big winners in Fuel To Go & Play J7/8 Girls Club Championships

The Fuel To Go & Play J7/8 Girls Club Championships concluded in thrilling fashion at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University on Friday, with three closely fought Grand Finals rounding off the tournament in style.

Westside Wolves were the big winners, taking out Division A, defeating School Sport WA 2-0 in a strong contest.

Westside Wolves put on a dominant performance in the division, finishing the regular matches with a 10-to-nil goal difference, with School Sport WA putting up a fight against the strong side.

It was Eastern Goldfields who claimed the Division B Grand Final, defeating Collie 2-0.

It was a closely fought division, with WASPs, the second-placed side, facing Collie who were placed third heading into the semi-final – Collie caused the upset to reach the final, but ultimately just fell short against a strong Eastern Goldfields outfit.

In Division C, it was Roe Districts who ran away with the Grand Final victory, defeating Central Midlands 2-0 in a strong contest.

Roe Districts finished the regular matches at the top of the standings, but a strong division saw some extremely close finishes, with Roe Districts just pulling away with the victory against a valiant effort from Central Midlands.
