The All Flags Premier league has an exciting new addition this week, with a regional match fixtured for Wheatbelt hockey fans to enjoy.

This year’s Wheatbelt Festival of Hockey, thanks to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, will take place in Northam on Saturday, May 29, and will host a feature match between Old Guildfordians and WASPS.

The full course of events for the Wheatbelt Festival of Hockey is below:

Saturday afternoon in Perth, University of WA will host Whitford, with 17 premiership points separating the two on the men’s All Flags Premier League standings.

A showdown between YMCC and Hale’s men’s sides will determine which of the two will advance up the ladder, with both teams sitting on an equal 12 points.

A double-header means the women’s All Flags Premier League will also see a YMCC versus Hale contest, however a second-placed Hale looking to be the favourites against the home side, who are yet to win a match.

North Coast Raiders women are looking for their second win of the season, when they host ladder leaders WASPs, who are in hot form after winning their last three matches.

The University of WA women’s side will take on Suburban Lions, hoping to play a full 60-minutes of hockey after their match against YMCC was suspended last Saturday due to dangerous weather.

Sunday will see a huge double header between Wolves and Melville, with the Wolves men looking to own Melville’s first defeat.

The Melville men are yet to lose a match, with James Day’s hot form proving too good for their past opponents, scoring 22 goals from just eight games.

In the women’s All Flags Premier League, third-placed Wolves sit comfortably above their opponent Melville, and will look to repeat last week’s success, a huge 5-1 win over Victoria Park.

An exciting match is scheduled between Victoria Park and Curtin women in a Perth Hockey Stadium derby, with just two premiership points separating the two sides.

The men’s Victoria Park side will take on Fremantle Cockburn, and third-placed Reds men will take on bottom-of-the-table Curtin at home Sunday afternoon.
