The Hockey WA 2019 Volunteer of the Year Awards held on Saturday 26th October present a great opportunity to acknowledge and showcase the legacies of our hockey volunteers.

Hockey WA recognise that volunteers are the lifeblood of our sport and are essential for delivering quality hockey programs, competitions and events. There is no doubt that without volunteers hockey in Western Australia would not flourish as it currently does. Hockey WA are committed to supporting and celebrating our volunteers.

Hockey WA were overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of nominations received; however the stand out finalists for the two categories were as follows:

METRO VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

  • Adam Piggott (Curtin University Hockey Club) – Finalist
  • Amanda Kemp (Whitfords Hockey Club) – Finalist
  • Richard Guthrie (Kalamunda Hockey Club) – Winner

REGIONAL VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

  • Simone Heslewood (Busselton Hockey Association) – Finalist
  • Maxine Williams (Margaret River Hockey Club) – Finalist
  • Rodney Thornton (Eastern Districts Hockey Association) – Finalist
  • Jerrah Barrett (Lancelin Ledge Point Hockey Club) – Winner

Hockey WA wish to acknowledge and thank all hockey volunteers across the state for their continued commitment and contributions to the sport.
